Oliver Zornow

Oliver Zornow founded the Caneille Regional Development Fund in 2006.  As a response to his senior research project at Valley New School, Oliver organized friends and family around the cause of providing opportunity through education in the rural region of Haiti he visited in February 2006.  Since this time, Oliver has led the organization as president from its inception through 2014 and has led 7 trips to the region – facilitating a community dialogue and addressing any operational challenges.  In 2014, Oliver was made the organization’s treasurer and remains the primary contact for our partners in Haiti as founder.

Oliver graduated magna cum laude from Lawrence University with a Bachelor’s degree in Government and Economics in 2010.  Oliver has diverse non-profit and international development experience which allows him to contribute perspective and innovation in his role on the CRDF board.    This experience includes 5 years at the Building for Kids Children’s Museum, 2 years serving as an Education and Youth Development Specialist in the United States Peace Corps, and 2 years as the Education Manager for the Fox Cities Building for the Arts. Oliver’s other volunteer commitments include serving as the President of the Outagamie Chapter of Thrivent Financial and previously as a member of the Technology Committee at Valley New School.

Rebecca Zornow

Rebecca Zornow is co-founder of Caneille Regional Development Fund and currently serves as Board President.  Since CRDF’s beginnings in 2006, Rebecca created the CORE support team to provide donors with an enhanced experience, plans and executes fundraising events, and travels to Caneille, Haiti to assess project work. As an international development worker, Rebecca has seen the power education can have on a community and the opportunity it provides.

Rebecca graduated from Lawrence University in 2010 with a BA in English and Art History. She has worked at the Building for Kids Children’s Museum, US Peace Corps, and The Trout Museum of Art in educational capacities as well as freelance classes and art activities. She is a docent at the Bergstrom-Mahler Museum and volunteers to present on cross cultural topics to scout troops and school groups.

Leslie Dempsey is currently the Vice-President of Caneille Regional Development Fund and has been since 2011. She is responsible for one fundraiser a year, providing assistance to the board president, and assisting with new board member recruitment and training.  Some fundraisers she organizes and coordinates to raise money for the annual budget include alternative giving fairs, candy bar sales, keeping records updated for Christmas card sending, and various parties held throughout the year such as Yankee Candle. She also volunteers her time to other fundraisers that are held. She has developed and implemented the Scrip fundraiser, proofed and mailed quarterly newsletters, and communicated with ground counterparts and inspected school proceedings in Haiti.

Leslie Dempsey has earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Lakeland College in Specialized Business and graduated manga cum laude in 2011.  She is currently attending Fox Valley Technical College and will graduate in August 2016 with an Associate Degree in Human Resources while being on the Dean’s List.  She also has obtained an Associate Degree in Administrative Assistant in 1997 while also on the Dean’s List.

In the past she has worked in Kimberly-Clark Corporation’s Legal Department as the office relief/word processor. She has also performed internship through Fox Valley Technical College’s Administration Department and learned many office skills. She is currently taking part in Fox Valley Technical College’s BIZsquad Internship program.  This class provides business program students with opportunities in obtaining projects to work on for companies.  The students meet with clients to find out what they need done and perform the tasks. At the end of class, they will present all the projects performed to their clients and others from FVTC which will include Dr. Susan May.

Jane Zornow

Jane is a results-oriented leader with many years of diverse working experience in the fields of business development, financial services, human resources, non-profit leadership, small business operations and conflict resolution.

Jane is passionate about helping individuals and organizations succeed by reaching their highest potential.  She is currently employed by HomeInstead Senior Care as a home care consultant and Pier 1 Imports as a sales leader.  Previously, Jane was a HR Director at Thrivent Financial and retired in 2014 with over 30 years of service.

Jane has served on the Board of Directors for the Caneille Regional Development Fund, Inc. since its inception and has made several trips to Haiti to visit the School of Grace.  Each visit to Haiti inspires her to do more to help the students, teachers, and families in the Caneille region.  She previously served on the Board of Directors for Haven of Hope Day Care Inc., the Outagamie Chapter of the American Red Cross, Wisconsin Independent Christian Schools and Appleton Christian School.

She is a graduate of Marian University, Fond du Lac, and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with majors in Human Resource Management and Marketing.  She received her mediation and conflict resolution training and certification through the Winnebago County Conflict Resolution Center.

Jenny Jansen

Jenny Jansen joined the Caneille Regional Development board in January 2015. Jenny is a recent graduate from Marian University (December 2015). She graduated manga cum laude with distinction with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a double major in marketing and general management, and a minor in organizational communication.

Jenny is currently the Marketing Coordinator of the Caneille Regional Development Fund.  She is responsible for their social media account(s). Jenny is responsible for organizing and coordinating two fundraisers per year for CRDF’s annual budget. Jenny is a highly motivated professional with a “can do” attitude.

Jenny is currently employed as an Associate Product Manager at TIDI Products LLC, located in Neenah, Wisconsin. Jenny oversees creating marketing ads for distribution partners, works closely with sales, operations and engineering to make sure they’re providing the right product for their customers.

Jenny volunteers as an administrative volunteer with Tri-Community Dental clinic for onsite well check visits. Jenny is a member of Professional Women in Healthcare (PWH); this is an organization dedicated to ongoing development for women in healthcare businesses.

Ashley Fleming has earned an Associate degree in Business Management from Fox Valley Technical College as well as a Bachelor degree in Business Management from Lakeland College.  She is currently working toward her Masters of Business Administration at Lakeland College and expects to graduate in spring 2017.

Ashley currently serves on the Caneille Regional Development Fund board as the Fundraising Coordinator.  Ashley’s responsibilities include organizing the annual calendar of fundraisers, recruiting volunteers for fundraisers and anything else to support the goals of the board.  She previously served on the board for the Outagamie Chapter of Thrivent Financial holding a variety of positions including Events Director, Communications Director and Vice President during her five years of service.  Her responsibilities included planning and organizing member social, educational and charitable events, designing promotional materials, building relationships with partners in the community, and much more.

She currently works at Thrivent Financial in the Records Management department where she leads efforts that look at increasing efficiency, minimizing risk and reducing complexity in financial representative’s offices across the country by assisting with information management.  Ashley enjoys the challenge of learning and developing this ever changing space.
