We received news that Caneille took on a lot of rain, but due to our location further inland, the community and the school have fortunately been spared the rough weather much of the coast of Haiti faced. As with major catastrophes in the country, the population must deal with not only the immediate emergency, but also the aftermath amidst lack of basic needs, infrastructure, and emergency support including shelters, medical care, and responders. We are always eager to partner with you in bringing education to rural Haiti, but if you wish to have a direct impact on the families affected by the hurricane, we suggest donating to Partners in Health, which has worked in Haiti for decades to bring emergency medical care to those in need.Partners in Health Webpage
